|cw_blaise||05:23 pm - Ball Room|
The ball room is decked out with more of the fairies of light floating around the celling. Light music is provided by a live band, who will be playing waltz and chamber music for the first part, followed by a dancing beat when the students arrive.
Blaise stands by herself in the Ballroom, checking the decorations on last time. She really hopes that everyone has a good time, and that no war issues happen at the party.
"Hi, Blaise." Pansy smiled. "Looks really nice in here." She grinned as she glanced around, eyes searching for Ade. "Think Creevey'll show?"
"Greetings, girls." George sauntered over, a grin on a face. "Hate to break up the conversation but don't you think someone should dance? Get the others going?"
"Oh, Fred? Um, thanks fo coming." Blaise looks confused at his arrival. "Didn't expect you to be here, but its good you did. Not enough people here yet for dancing, and this music? How can you?"
"I hope so, he said he would if I was 'good'. You look nice. Thanks for coming."
"Good? Leave it to a Gryffindor to bring good into it." She smirked over at Blaise, then slipped her hand in Ade's covertly, flashing him a shy smile.
Firenze entered the ballroom, feeling ill at ease. He had received an invitation, true, but the formal setting, so much artificial richness, gave him a painful desire to be back in the Forbidden Forest. Then again, many things gave him that desire.
It had, however, entered his mind that perhaps remaining in his classrooms would do little to protect anyone, perhaps not even himself. And so, determined, he entered the ballroom, smiling slightly as his hooves scratched the shiny floor.
Blaise grins and crosses the hall to great the professor. "Evening Professor, I'm glad you could make it. I know you don't leave Hogwarts much, I am honored that you came."
Firenze nods politely. "I thought it would be advisable." He does not bother to explain why. "Happy birthday, Miss Zabini. You will be how old now?"
Harry entered the room and was startled by the number of people already here. He stepped to one side and looked around, hoping to see someone who wasn't a Slytherin...there seemed little chance of that.
Hermione came up beside Harry and gently elbowed him in the side, "Mister Potter." She said with a smirk.
"Hi, Hermione," Harry said, relieved to see her. "How're you? Enough Slytherins for you?"
Hermione made a small face, "Oh, yes, jsut the right amount." She leaned against him a bit, "You going to dance?"
Oliver walks in, dressed in nice formal robes. Seeing Harry, Hermione and Blaise he walks over to give his regards. "Hi Blaise, happy birthday. Harry, Hermione, nice to see you."
"Hi Oliver. I haven't seen you in a while." Blushing, Harry realised exactly how tactless that was. Of course he hadn't seen Oliver for a while. Because of Terry.
"Yeah, you've been a bit absent lately also. How have things been?" Oliver smiles back, putting a hand on Harry shoulder.
Harry relaxed involuntarily into the touch before straightening again, his arm still around Hermione, and smiling a little stronger. "Not been very good, actually. I haven't had any time to play Quidditch, for one."
George caught the top of Hermione's hair out of the corner of his eye as he began to walk out. He turned and gaped at her for a brief moment before quietly shutting his mouth. It never ceased to amaze him how angelic Mione looked when she dressed the part.
He grinned. I think I prefer the wicked girl I see everyday.
He thought about walking over to her but changed his mind. No sense in tearing her away from the others. He took a quick sip of punch and looked around at the gathering. He didn't feel quite so cloistered now that the other Gryffindors had started to arrive.
Hermione came up behind George and tapped his s houlder, "Did you spike the punch bowl?"
"Noooo." He grinned. "Should I have?"
She shrugged, "We'll have to see. If this party remains a typical, pureblood, artisocratic gathering it may need a Weasley charm or two." She tilted her head up to him and grinned mischievously.
Lisa entered quietly and glanced about. Too many of those faeries.. too asy to trip over.. Instead she sat down at a table and listened to the band, observing the others.
((continued from the Dinning-Room))
Colin entered the Ballroom. He looked around but saw Blaise nowhere, instead he saw far too many Slytherins to his own taste.
At one of the tables he saw a girl, Ravenclaw if he remembered correctly. He walked over to her. "Mind if I take a seat?", he asked her.
Blaise enters the ball room again, after "freshening" up. She scans the room, and her face lights up when she sees Colin. But he is talking with Lisa. She starts to walk over there, but remembers some advice she got, "Don't be pushy," so she stands across the room, trying not to stare at him. Catching her reflection, she notes that at least she looks really good.
Noth waiting for an answer, Colin slightly turned the chair and as he was about to sit down, he saw Blaise standing at the other side.
"Ahah, there she is", he grinned and walked over to her, "At last found ya! Can't walk all evening with this in my pocket, can I?" He showed her a little present wrapped in red paper and a big blue ribbon."Happy birthday!"
